How much does it cost to move a piano across the country?

It’s a spinnet (an upright piano) and we’d be moving it from Texas to California. Anybody got any ideas how much it would cost to hire a professional piano mover to move it that far?

The wood in piano has been in humid environment and the piano can swell with lots of padding then.

From Texas to California that’s not across the county, unless you made a mistake. I would get estimates from different movers, go through your phone book and see who will do it for the least amount !!!
